Heat Pumps draw their heat from a number of different sources, such as ground, air and water. In the case of ground and water; heat is absorbed into a fluid inside a loop of pipe buried underground/in the water, which passes through a compressor to raise the temperature, which is then used for heating water in homes, dairies, holiday homes and a number of other applications. Air source heat pumps work in a similar fashion, extracting the heat from outside air.
